Just an observation

excess01Quick observation with a larger – more important – context.

There are a couple of signs that indicate when you’re taking too much of something.

They indicate you may not need the supplement/medication.

This would be worthy of a discussion with a health care provider.  It is not meant to suggest you suddenly stop taking whatever it is you are taking.

If you take too much of a supplement, or take a supplement you do not need, your body will respond first by attempting to get rid of the excess.  If that doesn’t work, it will stow it.

In the case with excess calcium that will go into the joints and on the artery walls.  Not great.

The irony here is that you may end up with a deficiency of whatever it is you were trying to replenish – because you took too much.

Case in point:  Take thyroid medication when you don’t need it and your next blood reading will show that your TSH levels will have gone down.  Happened to me – my doc explained that it was evidence that low thyroid was not my problem (or the source of my debilitating fatigue).

This was when I was trying to figure out why I was feeling so sick – what ended up being EMF Sensitivity.  Every damned blood and medical test told me I was healthy – I wasn’t.  But that’s a tale for another time…

So, with regards to potassium.  If your body has too much of it you may have some off-the-wall symptoms.  Namely, sneezing and coughing.

Which are symptoms of low potassium.

You may also get burning calves and hamstrings, along with burning muscles wherever scar tissue exists.

The association between calcium and sulphur which are on the opposite side of the potassium teeter totter – are complex- .  Excess calcium and excess sulphur can both result in symptoms associated with arthritis – though they are different.  Excess sulphur is burning in muscles.  Excess calcium is pain in joints and where scar tissue is.  And heart disease and dementia since excess calcium on artery walls reduces critical blood flow.  And excess calcium on intestinal walls?  …

There are a number of symptoms people may not realize are sending signals to back off medications or supplements.

Especially mowing calcium like it was M & Ms.

btw:  The symptoms of diabetes and the symptoms of low potassium are similar.  If you start taking insulin when in fact you have low potassium, your body will cut back on making insulin and you could end up with a condition you didn’t have to begin with.

Quietly Fading Away

A funny thing happened on the detox excess calcium path…

In 1979 I had brain surgery to repair a hemorrhage.  I’ve had a fairly significant horseshoe shaped scar ever since.

Originally red, it turned white and got slightly smaller but was also very noticeable.

My hair generally covered it though hair stylists over the years have freaked out about it.

No, I am not happy with this type of awkward situation.

I always quickly explained I’d had brain surgery and though I was always nonchalant about it – I’ve had various responses.

Not usually too positive.  Freak out while trying not to be obvious about is common.

A good part of the reason the scar was so noticeable was because the hair didn’t grow there.  The white line of it was visible.

This was the same with a small scar on the back of my head from a bike accident.  The hair stylist’s reaction to that one was that I had alopecia.  Um, no –  just a scar from where I had three stitches.  She insisted I was going bald – likely from stress – and I’d better see a doctor before it was too late.

Fast Forward to now.

My current stylist is pretty cool and never mentioned the scar.  I may know why…

Shortly after I began incorporating baking soda therapy into my detox regimen, I noticed scars shrinking and disappearing.

The very first to go was that one on the back of my head.  I am no longer able to feel it and my husband hasn’t seen evidence of it.

Within a month of that, moles began to fall off.

And have continued to do so.  The most recent?  One I had for over twenty years.  The skin is totally fine.  Looks normal.  No mole.

Last night I was in the bathroom and I pushed a hand through my hair.  To my surprise, I was unable to find “the scar.”

I’d told my mom this past summer that I’d noticed since doing the baking soda therapy and detoxing the excess calcium, the bone from the brain surgery scar had been filling in.  I used to feel like I could put my finger through a hole and then – nope.  It was like a divot.  A smell shallow divot.

I kept pulling my hair back and looking for that white horseshoe line but – nada.  I called my family in and they didn’t see any scar either.

My husband and I have been together for over 21 years so I asked him to look for it.  After all, he’s seen it plenty as it came up in conversation early in our relationship.

Aaron couldn’t find it either.

I can feel the place in the bone that was cut though that “hole” is no longer there.

It’s also no longer sensitive and I don’t get the migraines there I used to.

As for that horseshoe line – I checked again this evening and all I could find was a white line that is approximately 3 inches long in the general area.  That’s it.

Intentions.  My intention when this whole hoopla started was to heal from what turned out to be EMF Sensitivity.  The path was through detoxification of heavy metal poisoning.

Later, I had to cope with an entirely different situation that was due to excess calcium.

The shrinking and disappearing scars and the moles that have and continue to fall off was just a side effect.

I have to admit, I’m not sorry about it.  The brain surgery scar has been a difficult if unavoidable discussion point throughout my life.  These visible, if unexpected and unplanned results help me know that what I’m doing with the detox is working even when it seems like I’ve hit a plateau – or worse – a setback.

And there have been more of those than I would like to think about.

I share this because I’ve always felt the body could rebuild itself and heal – if we let it.  Now I’m seeing evidence.

At this point I believe most moles are the body’s evidence of its efforts to detoxify medications and mineral/metals through the skin.  I never had many growing up but after taking birth control pills noticed more – many of which were flesh colored and normal.

And yes – I always had a dermatologist check them.  Now?  Not much to check.

Awareness V. Sensitivity

Airblown+Inflatables+Projection+Kaleidoscope+Happy+Halloween+PumpkinJust in time for Halloween…

I find myself facing a bit of conundrum at this point in my EMF Sensitivity research.  When is something an awareness as opposed to a sensitivity?

It’s been several years since I’ve had any issues with technology EMFs.

As I detoxed heavy metals, my sensitivity to – being sickened by – technology EMFs ceased.

I realized I was no longer sensitive to the technology EMFs after discovering that the WiFi had been left on – but I wasn’t aware of it.

There were no physical symptoms.

As I continued to detoxify the metals my sensitivity to various types of technology EMFs lessoned then ceased.

WiFi, followed by Bluetooth, then RADAR.

I continued to learn from my nutrition based healing protocol and while my health has rebounded, I find myself with two interesting yet very different “sensitivities.”

Or is it awareness?

  • Fault lines
  • Ghosts

Geology EMFs.  Up until fairly recently, I was sickened by the ultra-low and very low EMFs emitted by geologic fault lines.  After detoxing the heavy metals, I noted that I no longer felt sick around the fault lines but my awareness of them seemed to remain.

My ears would ring before a quake.  The higher the pitch, the louder it was, and the longer I heard it, the larger the quake and the lengthier the shaking.  I had sensitivity at very small quake levels (i.e. 1.5 – 2 on the Richter scale).

We moved to a different geologically active part of the country and the ringing in my ears continued – but switched ears.

I also discovered my head turns in the exact direction the quake waves are traveling from.

As I continued the nutritional therapy, my sensitivity to fault lines seemed to disappear.

There was one I would periodically ride over and I noticed that over time, the symptoms I felt when near the thing would lessen.  Eventually, they disappeared altogether.

I recently discovered there is a fault line in the very location where I felt a change that was unique. The area “felt” sad.

The feeling is fleeting but is consistent in that each time I drive over the area, I feel it.

After sensing the change enough times I said, “There must be a fault line here or something.”

I honestly couldn’t tell you what made me say that.  Not sure why I  had that association given the “symptom” was an emotional feeling as opposed to the physically unpleasant symptoms I felt previously.

Turns out there is a fault line in that exact location and while I am “aware” of the change when I drive over it, I am no longer “sensitive” in that I don’t feel any physical symptoms.  I don’t get sick.

I’ll be curious to see – since I continue to follow the nutritional philosophy of naturally lowering excess calcium and significantly reducing Sulphur foods, if my awareness to geologic EMFs will lessen as well.

Paranormal EMFs.  As I wrote in Riding the Waves: Diagnosing, Treating, and Living with EMF Sensitivity, one of the symptoms of the EMF Sensitivity was a loss of all my paranormal abilities.

It was very unsettling as I’d had them basically all of my life and the loss was relatively sudden.

The very first remedy I discovered, the copper, zinc, and silver bracelet, appeared to restore the abilities by blocking the EMFs that were blocking the abilities.  After we moved away from the Bay Area, and I began to recover, my abilities returned fully – and strengthened.

I have realized that unlike with the geologic EMFs, as I become healthier, my sensitivity to the paranormal EMFs – my awareness of ghosts – strengthens.

Ghosts themselves are a form of EMF so it makes sense that I would be aware of them.

The interesting thing about the spirits is that just as with other EMFs, they cause an adrenal response. However, unlike with the other EMFs, the ghosts do not cause my body to release histamines.

I’m not “allergic” to the ghosts the way I was to the other EMFs.

In the case of the ghosts, I feel a bit of a … change though even this has lessened.  It used to be I had to eat something after a ghostly encounter since my blood sugar seemed to lower.

Suggests adrenal response.

At this point, I don’t have that issue.  I’m still aware of them and different ghosts have a different feel but other than the awareness of their presence, I don’t seem to have any symptoms.

Ghosts and Geology.  It was while doing EMF research I came to see that areas with geologic fault lines seem to be havens for ghosts.

This applied to both sides of the Rockies.  Faults east of the Rockies are older and often deeper but there are several fault systems up and down the East and Midwest US.

Many of the battlefields where I’ve had encounters with ghosts are locations chosen because of a geologic feature that made them strategic.  It also means there are EMFs.  And now – ghosts.  At least, anecdotally, there seems to be a relationship.

It’s interesting to note that as my awareness of one type of EMF goes down, my awareness of a different EMF goes up.  But is this awareness a sensitivity?

For now I associate sensitivity with unpleasant physical symptoms. Awareness is simply that – being aware. What I do with that awareness is a different story altogether.

More research is needed.

Variability Vs. Repeatability: The Challenge of Diagnosing EMF Sensitivity

In reading an article about RF interference, I was reminded of the parallels between networking hardware and humans.

Humans are electrical beings.  We are all transmitting and receiving signals twenty-four hours a day. Our brains, an electrical organ, along with the nervous system – another one – process the signals and carry out any necessary actions as a result.

When I read a particular paragraph, I was reminded of the difficulty involved with diagnosing EMF Sensitivity.

This difficulty tends to leave researchers frustrated to the extent they dismiss the symptoms as psychosomatic.  In other words, the subjects are told there is no such thing as EMF Sensitivity though I think that sentiment is going out of fashion as more information about the legitimacy of this condition becomes available.

From the article:

  • What RF levels will impact equipment operations?
This is truly a case-by-case issue. There are no set regulations defining a single RF level that will cause RF interference. Among other things, it depends on the sensitivity of the equipment under consideration, or how low an interfering signal can be in the presence of the equipment and cause problems. Also, equipment can be particularly sensitive to very low signal levels of one frequency and yet quite immune to high signal levels of another frequency—so frequency is an important factor. Some electronic system components are internally shielded and have a very high immunity to interference. But generally, most equipment has not been so engineered.

I disagree with the last line where it applies to humans. Our immune systems are definitely designed to handle EMFs from a variety of sources.  When the immune system has been compromised because the body doesn’t have the nutrients necessary to make the enzymes and hormones that power this intricate system, then it is unable to shield effectively.

This paragraph beautifully illustrates the difficulty in diagnosing EMF Sensitivity.  Different people can and do react differently – different symptoms – to different frequencies.

No two EMF Sensitives will necessarily react the same way.

I once saw a video in which a British man was talking about how he and others who were EMF Sensitive had been participating in a laboratory study in which they were blasted with different electromagnetic frequencies. He expressed frustration at the fact the different members of the group responding differently to different frequencies and sometimes not being affected at all convinced researchers there was nothing scientifically measurable going on.

EMF Sensitivity is an environmental condition.

Though if you repair the internal environment, the external one has less – if any – negative impact.

EMF Sensitivity is caused by heavy metal toxicity induced mineral imbalance.  Fix that and the sensitivity – and its associated symptoms – vanish.

It’s a highly individualized condition.  This is why really digging into when any symptoms started and what environmental conditions – internal as well as external – changed is critical in mapping out a strategy to deal with it.

Keep a journal!!!!!

The scientific method so accepted for research may not be enough in this situation.

Variability and not repeatability needs to be prioritized.

Variability in the Treatment as Well.  Not all remedies work for all individuals.

It depends on what is going on with any one individual.

Not even the fact that mineral imbalance is at the root of the problem erases the need to accept variability.

Yes, detoxing heavy metals and other toxins is key, as is rebalancing the minerals.  The variability lies in the methods of detox and rebalancing, which will vary depending on what toxins are involved and what minerals need rebalancing.

Constant Change.  Just  to make this super fun – the body’s chemistry changes throughout the detoxification and rebalancing process, so changing the protocol as necessary – tweaking it – is critical.

No matter how often.

I write about this in my books.  An example would be how food intolerances can appear and disappear as the rebalancing ensues and continues.

All these variables necessitate that the patient be truly involved – I would go so far as to say needs to own responsibility for – their recovery.  A doctor can guide.  A doctor can suggest.  A doctor can run tests to illustrate progress.  Only the patient can tell if something changed prior to a doctor visit or test result.

It’s a myth that something is working because you feel worse before you feel better.  Sometimes, yes, but not nearly as often as you might think.

The best way to approach dealing with EMF Sensitivity when you are not a health expert is to accept that you are an expert – in YOU.

I believe a doctor and/or health care provider is a consultant. He or she is not a parent and does not and should not have the final say.

You are an expert in YOU!

Bracelets, EMFs, and Psi

images-3.jpegI’m working on Adjudication, the final book in the Metatron’s Army series.  With hands on a keyboard, I’m not big into jewelry, as it is distracting and often uncomfortable.  However, this morning I happen to be wearing a thin copper bracelet.

I bought it at a Native American festival.  It’s thin and has a nice twisty shape and has a small piece of turquoise set in it.

I’m not wearing the bracelet for any reasons associated with EMF Sensitivity.  I’m wearing it because I felt like putting it on this morning.

It’s pretty.  It’s lightweight.  I can wear it while typing and forget it’s there.

Since the interview with Lloyd Burrell, I’ve received several requests asking where to purchase the bracelet I talked about.

Does/Doesn’t.  I decided to write a follow-up post to clarify what the bracelet is and isn’t.

It is not a cure.  It is a remedy.  This means it addresses certain symptoms associated with EMF Sensitivity.  It does not CURE EMF Sensitivity.

It is not a magic bullet. You may or may not have the same experience I did, putting it on and feeling instant and tremendous relief.

I explain all of it in Riding the Waves: Diagnosing, Treating, and Living with EMF Sensitivity.

For me.  My condition was complex because not only was I sensitive to the electromagnetic frequencies from technology, I was sensitive to the ultra-low and very low frequencies emitted from geologic fault lines.

Living in the Bay Area near the Hayward and Calaveras faults, among others, you can imagine how much fun this was for me.

The metals in the bracelets are all good conductors of electricity.  They deflected the surrounding EMFs away from my body.  This reduced and/or eliminated many of the worst symptoms I was suffering.

The same would be accomplished by standing on top of rock made up of these minerals.  Anyone want to move to Silver City, NV?

Psi Anyone?  The bracelet also unblocked an impediment to my psi abilities.

I had been puzzled by the sudden and inexplicable loss of psychic abilities I’d had since I was a child.

Here’s the thing.  It isn’t the bracelets that make someone psychic. IF someone is psychic and their abilities are being hindered and/or blocked by EMFs then the bracelets could help restore those abilities, as they did for me.

There is an internal and external component involved with psychic abilities.

Not to mention whether or not you have the gift to begin with.

As I’ve written in other books, low magnesium will also affect psychic abilities.  So will low potassium.

High calcium basically kills them.

Do the bracelets help with high calcium?  Calcium is a metal and will draw EMFs to the body.  So, the short answer is yes.  Only chelating excess calcium will actually resolve the issue.

Copper bracelets are sold as remedies for arthritis pain. Arthritis is caused by excess calcium in the joints.  The copper will deflect the EMFs that are drawn to that metal.

If you have something else going on and put on a copper/silver/zinc bracelet you may have a less than positive response.

This is why you absolutely have to do your homework and figure out exactly what is going on.  No shortcuts.

It’s Magnetic.  Many of the bracelets sold for arthritis are classified as magnetic bracelets.

They are still generally copper though you will find some with silver and zinc mixed in.

Magnets work on a different yet related issue.  To better understand, you have to consider that electro and magnetic are different energetic forces. Do the magnetic bracelets work?  Sure, but they may not address the symptom you’re trying to resolve.  It depends on the source of the problem.

I’ll close with a couple of anecdotes.

And an example of how EMFs negatively impacted my psi ability.

I was interviewing for a job.  I explained what I was looking for and how I worked.  The hiring manager talked about his style and explained what the job was.  He completely and totally lied 100%.

Normally, because of my abilities, I would have picked up on the fact he was lying.  I didn’t.

I got the job and quickly came to see I’d been lied to.

I was not a happy camper.

My worst fears were realized when I spoke with a senior manager who confirmed that the job was not what I’d been promised.

She had quite the oh, &*$?# look on her face when I explained what the hiring manager told me about the job.

I left the company a short time later.  For years, it haunted me that I hadn’t been able to pick up on the lies while in the interview.

I had never missed picking up someone’s deceit before.  Not once.

While doing research into my mysterious health condition I came across the fact that the office I was sitting in during the interview sits directly on top of a major fault line. No wonder I hadn’t been able to pick up on the deceit!

Understanding brought incredible peace of mind.

And leaving the company set me on the path to fulfilling my dream of being a writer, so it worked out.

images-2Psi restored.  Yesterday, at the grocery store, I was leaning over to pick up two jars of spaghetti sauce.  A vision flashed in front of me – one of the jars slipping to the ground and smashing.  I saw the sauce on the ground and heard the call for an employee to come and clean it. I then saw the young male – dark hair, about nineteen – coming to see what happened.

Knowing I had the opportunity to stop something unpleasant from happening, I focused on the bundle of goods in my hands.

Two boxes of noodles, two jars of sauce.

Nah, It Won’t Happen!  The irony here is that in the past, such warnings have been so fleeting or so apparently unlikely that I’ve ignored them – and come to regret it.  Because of this, I had promised myself not long ago that if I got a small warning again – no matter how unlikely it seemed to be – I would pay attention.  As I saw this vision my first reaction – my immediate reaction – was “I’m not going to drop the jar! I’m not that much of a klutz!”

I quickly countered by reminding myself that I was going to make a habit of listening to the warnings, even when they were small or unlikely.

Sure enough, the jar started to slip from my hands but because I had reminded myself to pay attention, the vision never happened.

Psi signals are also frequencies.  Images, thoughts, sensations, all are detected, processed.  So when EMFs mess with our bodies they are messing with far more than many realize.

It pays to pay attention!

Interview with Lloyd Burrell

o-radio-microphone-facebook1.jpgTo my good fortune, Lloyd Burrell of ElectricSense reached out to me for an interview regarding my work diagnosing, treating, and living with EMF Sensitivity.

Known as EHS or Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity in Europe.

What an awesome opportunity to educate people on this often misunderstood condition!

Lloyd is every bit as passionate as I am about helping people live a fuller, healthier life!  It was a true delight to speak with him!

During the interview I mention one of the many remedies I discovered for reducing and/or alleviating the symptoms, a bracelet with copper, silver, and zinc.  I have since been contacted about where I bought the bracelets.  While the store I bought the bracelets at no longer carries, them, I can provide some suggestions on where you can find versions of this particular remedy.

This is a remedy for various symptoms.  It is not a cure.

The bracelets were one of many remedies I used to alleviate symptoms while I went about curing the root cause of the condition.

To find out more, read Wipeout EMF: The Challenge of Curing Autoimmune Disease and Calcium: The Old Man Mineral and its Role in EMF Sensitivity.

The bracelets I purchased for $8 a piece are now on the web for $40 and more.  To me this is gouging.

The quality just isn’t there to justify this.

You can easily get a less expensive and equally suitable piece elsewhere.

A bracelet that is only copper can and should suffice for many.

The best places?

  • The tourist shops in old ghost towns and mining towns in the American Southwest. **
  • Native American events such as PowWows  **
  • Native American store websites **
  • Pharmacies **
  • Amazon
  • Etsy

** means BEST PRICES! You will NOT be ripped off at the tourist shops or going through Native American vendors.

I never have.

Caveat.  If you do not suffer from EMF Sensitivity and you wear metal, you may have a different experience.

Once I was cured of my EMF Sensitivity, I discovered I can become uncomfortable wearing metals under certain conditions.  My own electromagnetic field is different since curing myself of the issue.

Not all copper is copper.  I did not have luck at all – as I write in Riding the Waves: Diagnosing, Treating, and Living with EMF Sensitivity – buying copper from the hardware store.

For more information on the remedies, see Riding the Waves.

FYI.  Lloyd is putting together a seminar that promises to be packed with information for those wanting to learn more about this condition.  The information presented is suitable for those just scratching the surface as well as those looking for a more scientific/research take on it all.

See his site for details.

Be well!

Temple of Health Radio Talk Show

decoration-spa-bamboo-green-stonesIt is my pleasure to announce that I will be talking with Dr. Susan Kolb on her Temple of Health Radio Show this Saturday, January 20, beginning at noon EST.

We will be discussing EMF Sensitivity and my book Riding the Waves: Diagnosing, Treating, and Living with EMF Sensitivity.

Dr. Kolb, MD, FACS has years of experience treating patients holistically.  Her show brings a perfect balance of viewpoints highlighting not only the role of body, mind, and spirit in health, but also the importance of each.

For people who are not familiar with Dr. Kolb’s show, I encourage you to visit her site and listen to earlier shows.  Dr. Kolb and her guests bring a wealth of information that is invaluable for those seeking good health.

I found myself nodding repeatedly when listening to many of her guests speak of the complex interrelated factors that are at the root of disease.

In addition to my book Riding the Waves, I recently released Calcium: The Old Man Mineral and its Role in EMF Sensitivity.
