The Role of Minerals
To put the role that minerals play in EMF Sensitivity in a proper context, it is important to understand their importance to human health.
It’s also a good idea to understand what I mean by mineral.
The Merriam-Webster online dictionary defines mineral as
: a substance (such as quartz, coal, petroleum, salt, etc.) that is naturally formed under the ground
: a chemical substance (such as iron or zinc) that occurs naturally in certain foods and that is important for good health
: a synthetic substance having the chemical composition and crystalline form and properties of a naturally occurring mineral
When it comes to good health, vitamins get a lot of PR but minerals are equally if not more important.
Minerals are used by the body in ways too numerous to cover in this work so I’ll point out the ones relevant to curing EMF Sensitivity.
The body uses minerals to
- Repair and build cells
- Manufacture enzymes
- Manufacture hormones
Minerals are key to the cure of EMF Sensitivity and all autoimmune conditions.
Without enough minerals, the body cannot repair damaged cells or create new ones. It cannot manufacture enzymes and hormones critical to proper functioning.
Without enzymes and hormones, the body starts to break down.
Some hormones such as adrenaline are critical to existence. Without them we die.
When the body is deprived of the minerals it needs to function properly, the immune system is put on high alert.
This creates incredible stress and causes the adrenals to go into the fight or flee mode. This includes creating stress hormones from an already depleted pool of minerals.
If the mineral stores remain dangerously low, the body will begin cannibalizing itself
- It will convert non-critical hormones
- It will digest bone and tissues to free up minerals
- It will engage in nocturnal teeth grinding to free up minerals
This is part of the immune system response. It’s also the beginning of autoimmune disease.
What is the Best Source of Minerals?
Mammals get the nutrients they need through diet.
Humans are mammals. The same rules apply to pets, however.
The main sources of minerals for humans are
Water is an important source of minerals. If contaminated with heavy metals or other harmful substances, it is impossible to get important nutrients from water.
Contaminants include heavy metals, pesticides, and other harmful chemicals.
Water becomes contaminated when harmful substances find their way into the drinking source. Common sources of contamination are
- Agricultural runoff
- Mining Spills
- Fracking and oil spills
- Pipes underground and in the home
Reverse osmosis water is not a good source of minerals. In fact, it is not possible to get adequate levels from reverse osmosis water.
Companies that sell reverse osmosis water in bottles often add some minerals. However, this is not a long-term solution to contaminated water and will not adequately supply the minerals needed for good human and pet health. People who drink reverses osmosis water long-term often end up with the same debilitating diseases due to severe mineral deficiency.
Food is another source of important minerals. Protein foods such as eggs, dairy, and meat are the ideal food sources for minerals.
Vegetarians have difficulty obtaining enough minerals because their diets are low in animal proteins, which are an excellent source of minerals.
While fruits and vegetables are a good source of vitamins, they are generally not an optimal source of minerals.
They should be used along with, and not in place of, other sources.
It takes more than food and water!
Even if someone eats a healthy diet that includes clean water they can be severely deficient in critical minerals. This is because many substances can inhibit the absorption of minerals
- Prescription and over-the-counter medications
- Dietary supplements
Minerals interact, making proper ratios important. If there is too much of one mineral, other minerals can be depleted.
Supplements can throw mineral balance off.
Hard water is typically high in calcium. This can throw off the levels of magnesium and other crucial minerals, such as potassium and sodium.
Minerals play a key role in the cure of EMF Sensitivity.
In particular, potassium, magnesium, and zinc.
Metals play a key role in causing symptoms of EMF Sensitivity.
In particular, mercury, copper, and calcium.
